Why Choose 2002 Carpets?

Built by Enthusiasts, for Enthusiasts
After buying and installing carpet kits from suppliers around the world, we always walked away with the same thought: this could be better.
Like many 2002 owners, we found ourselves asking:
Where can you buy a quality, reasonably priced carpet kit that actually fits?
Instead of continuing to compromise, we decided to make our own.
Every decision we've made has come from real-world experience installing these cars. We know the little frustrations that turn a weekend job into a headache, so we've designed our carpet kits to avoid them. They're made to look right, fit properly, and make installation as straightforward as possible.
The Details Matter
Factory-inspired materials
We've sourced a quality nylon weave that closely replicates the original multi-piece BMW 2002 carpet, with colours chosen to match the most common factory interiors.
Rear seat support
Rather than wrapping thick carpet over the rear seat support, we've incorporated a vinyl flap. It reduces bulk, makes reinstalling the rear seat much easier, and still delivers a clean, factory-style finish.
Front seat supports
Anyone who's fitted carpet to an early 2002 knows how frustrating the front seat rails can be. Many kits leave you trying to squeeze carpet under the rails or trimming and gluing pieces into place. We use vinyl flaps instead, reducing thickness around the seat mounts and making the seats much easier to reinstall—especially on early cars with the front-facing seat rail bolts.
Kick panels
Only the visible edge is bound. The remaining edge uses a vinyl flap that tucks neatly behind the door opening pinch weld, just as it should.
Manual and automatic specific kits
Manual and automatic cars have different floor pan layouts, so they deserve different carpet patterns. We don't believe in a "one-size-fits-all" kit because it never produces the best result.
Custom heel pads
We manufacture our own heel pads rather than using generic off-the-shelf items. They're based on original factory dimensions and shaped to suit the differences between manual and automatic cars.
Smooth backing
Our carpet uses a smooth backing that bonds more effectively during installation, making it easier to achieve a neat, long-lasting finish.
Thoughtful packaging
We even designed our own shipping cartons. Every carpet is rolled—not folded—so it arrives without deep creases, whether it's travelling across Australia or across the world.
Designed for People Who Actually Work on Their Cars
None of these features are revolutionary on their own. But together, they make a real difference.
Less trimming. Less fighting with seat rails. Less frustration. A cleaner fit and a finish that's much closer to what BMW intended.
We're enthusiasts ourselves, and that's exactly the product we set out to build—one we'd be happy to install in our own 2002.
